Geotrail
Description
Development of an interpretive “Geologytrail” along Bulembu road (R40 from Barberton to Bulembu border post) in line with Tourism and Biodiversity Corridor and World Heritage Site objectives.
It will eventually form part of network of tourism access facilities related to the World Heritage Site Interpretation Centre / Biopark which would form the hub for various routes and visitor points throughout the region, the WHS and its marketing links. The project will package the various attractions including mainly geology but also biodiversity and scenery along the road. Entails construction of scenic lookout and stop points with appropriate visitor facilities, bus stops, interpretation and signage on and to significant sites. Including information dissemination, signage and road-verge maintenance and development of sustainable tourism monitoring and security service along the trail.
